{"id":332,"date":"2008-08-07T07:52:20","date_gmt":"2008-08-07T12:52:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anildesai.net\/?p=332"},"modified":"2008-08-07T07:52:20","modified_gmt":"2008-08-07T12:52:20","slug":"sql-server-2008-rtm-requires-visual-studio-2008-sp1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anildesai.net\/index.php\/2008\/08\/sql-server-2008-rtm-requires-visual-studio-2008-sp1\/","title":{"rendered":"SQL Server 2008 RTM Requires Visual Studio 2008 SP1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While SQL Server 2008 has reached the release (RTM) stage, there&#8217;s a potential gotcha that&#8217;s going to prevent many of us from upgrading right away.&#160; The issue is that the SQL Server 2008 installer requires you to have installed Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2008 in order to complete the setup process.&#160; If you can&#8217;t yet meet this requirement, you&#8217;ll receive the following error message:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A previous release of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 is installed on this computer.
